Purple Rooms

A LONG while back someone was asking for advice on doing their room purple. Since then I've been collecting purple rooms specifically thinking of this person. I've tried to find the post to post a new inspiration reply, but I can't seem to find it.

So I'm posting for everyone's enjoyment -- maybe you are reading this now, purple room person!



Fuchsia and GOLD! (or is it mustard? what would you call it?) Perhaps this is really more in the pink family, but there is a overall purpliness to me.



Palest yellow with very grown-up dark purple. I think the red tones in the carpet color contribute to making the couch look more violet.



Dusty lavender with silver / grey and grape.


same room but this corner is lighter


Deep muted aubergine bedroom with teal! BAM!! The forest green on the bedspread is kind of... interesting....





Big lilac art with light mint/tea green




Maybe this isn't acutally purple, but it would be very dramatic if it was!


Lime/spring Green + purple accent


Depends on your monitor, this might feel more pink. Raspberry + browns/tans + orange


Browns + lilac. I know the only actual purple thing is the flowers, but one could have a painting or curtains or pillow instead to contribute.


Orange + purple ---- same as above re: the flowers.


Straight up purple. The taupe/beige/woods save the day I think. The painted boxes are a bit much. I'd like them to have some kind of texture or bring in another tone.



Lilac couch makes this a purple room even though there are 100 things going on here.


This one on the other hand feels less crazy, but still has a lot going on. Black, teal, green, pink...

Yay, purple rooms!

My high school bedroom was a deep jewelly purple and I loved it. When I was in college, I painted over it a nice lilac, and I loved that too. The deep purple room garnered a lot of comments, though. I'll see if I have a pic at home to add to this post.

I've actually reorganized it completely since these photos....but i really adore the color purple I used. It's so rich.

thank you!!! you solved a delima, albeit unknowingly. in the fourth photo there are necklaces hanging from the drawer pulls. I have always hated plain hooks mounted in the wall.... i will be heading out to my local hardware store for neato pulls to mount in the wall for my jewelry!!! thanks!

It might have been me. :) I did end up painting my living room and dinning room purple. The dinning was red and purple I'm having trouble finding photos to post but the purple was almost EXACTLY like the first photo. We've painted over since then (due to try to sell our house :( ) or else I'd re take photos. I'm still looking though!

Oh goddd wow that first room. I would hate that purple on the wall if it weren't for the old school gold couch. I hate those old school gold couches, but it works with the purple. That is genius.

So many of these are the same colours as this two-sided sateen top sheet I got for my bed. Now i wanna go back and spend hundreds on the entire set :(

I completely agree with you about the first picture. I wonder what inspired it. It's a lot of wrong things combined into amazing -- just like I like it!
